"Less well-documented is the inciting incident that got the ban on Pareto Poppers officially put into place. According to anecdotal sources, an astoundingly large group of particularly mischievous graduating students somehow managed to smuggle one popper each into their graduation ceremony. Once the graduation was announced, they allegedly all threw their poppers to the ground at once. Given the acoustic reverberance of the space, along with the sheer number of poppers, one can only imagine the sound. Some say it could be heard from surrounding buildings, quite possibly it resounded across the whole campus. Regardless, you can see why the faculty might not have been too happy." And then there's a line break to separate the lore from the solve notes. This was my first real foray into pareto, and it was VERY satisfying seeing the curve go down. The visualizer was very helpful! Once I had my cost and cycles submissions in, the large rectangle in the corner was just BEGGING to be chipped away at. And chip away at it I did! I'm sure better alchemists will cut my pareto score in half, but I was able to get my score down to 10% of the initial square, so I'm proud of that accomplishment~ The reason this solve is my best cycles solution is that my min rate solution costs 500G and is therefore too costly to score. I've submitted the faster version (which is the same engine, but twice) to showcase! This was a fun puzzle to solve and solve and solve and solve and solve and solve and solve and solve and solve and solve! Good luck to those placing above me! Signed, Trixie Kagami: the Cheshire Alchemist, Diving Into Pareto Since 2025 (P.S. The solve titled "BETTER" is the sequel to a solve titled "NOT BETTER" which had an extra triplex, causing it to not contribute to my pareto. I cut said triplex, resulting in a usable solve. So that explains that.)
