Cycles wasn't very motivating to me this week, but I'm happy enough having a min rate solve. 1/8+1/24 is sub-optimal for cycles, since on a 6 cycle time-frame, the 1/24 pipeline steals 2 extra inputs which could be used to complete the 6th product 4 cycles earlier. However, I found it to be the least awkward method of achieving min rate. The 1/24 pipeline has over a full cycle latency to output(the machine operates on 16 8 [8 8 2 6]), but thankfully it has no effect on the cycle count. My rough calculations say that 41 should be minimum cycles, making me off by 7. This is definitely harder than the week 1 cycles puzzle, so I'm curious if there will be another 24 person primary tie.
