The speed of the greatest alchemists' machines are unmatched. Alchemical touchstone is a popular demonstration for how evident the results are--instead of being dispensed in powder or liquid form, like metals and tonics, touchstone creates unusually large but harmless chunks that fall into the output vial--or out of it. It makes for a startling demonstration of speed. Is said that masters like Maximos Critelli could activate their transmutation engine, and one would hear a brick of touchstone hitting the floor before they heard the click of the on switch. Mine is not quite so fast. This is not my specialty, after all, but I had the idea of sparking up a stock of elemental fire to simplify the process and did not resist trying it. - Alchemist Kazyan, /u/StillNotABrick
