it took a lot of trial and error to find a layout that worked. juggling a polymer, a waste chain, and having to fix bad bonds killed a lot of layouts. fortunately this one presented itself eventually. the polymer is constructed in such a way that the bad bonds are all oriented in the same direction, and can thus be easily fixed. 

i can confidently say that i would not like to do this again.
