This age of invention is not behind us, however. This journal has been established in light of the development of "disjoint alchemy": alchemy that regards certain molecules made of multiple seemingly separate components as a single unit. What was only a few years ago regarded as a mere curiosity of the alchemical engine has been realized into a field of study as important as any other.
This first issue of the first volume of this journal contains four landmark experiments that helped to demonstrate the value of disjoint alchemy as a science, as well as a special commemorative version of the popular game Sigmar's Garden.

This event consists of four puzzles which all make use of disjoint reagents and/or products. Each puzzle will have two regular metrics that you can optimize for, and there will be a stream at the end of the week going over the top 30 solves in either metric.
This is not a tournament, and as such there will not be an overarching points total to decide a winner. However, you are required to submit on your own and are not permitted to form teams.
Once the event begins, a side server will be created in which, once you feel like you want to put the puzzle down, you can discuss the current puzzle to your heart's content. Any submissions made by you after you join the server in a particular week will not be included in the rankings, and everyone currently in it will be removed from the server once the next puzzle submission period opens.
