NOTES

  • Rate is defined as the average amount of cycles per output ad infinitum.
  • For the rate metric, area is counted at steady state of the solution and must be finite to qualify for the metric.
  • Amarms is defined as the total area of the solution minus the number of arms used (counting arm bases only).
  • Solutions do not have to be looping for the amarms metric.

    • The invention of alchemical engineering enabled mass-production of all kinds of alchemical compounds, but it also drastically increased all kinds of pollution. Air pollution in particular was (and still is, to a much lesser degree) a grave problem in the old Empire, such that the industrial alchemists themselves eventually developed methods to filter harmful reactive compounds from the air.
