I spent most of the week trying to optimize a 1p solution which I finally got down to 105i. With a day and a half left, it occurred to me for the first time to attempt a 1/2p solution. After a half hour of crashing atoms into each other, I had a working 71i solution. A bit more tinkering got me down to 68i. I stared at it for a couple of minutes trying to see if there was any inefficiency that could be improved, but nothing came to me. I was very satisfied and thought I might even have a top 3 solution. As I was lying in bed, I realized something. I was at 100G with both arms on track. I was so focused on improving the secondary and overlooked that I probably wasn't even at min primary. When I awoke, I started working on a 90G solution. And of course, I beat 68i easily since a length 1 arm is easier to work with. I'm not as confident on my placement now, but it should still be pretty good at 1/2p. Surely there too much waste is created for 80G to be possible...
