"theory" min c*reagents with massive air quotes, is 30 by using both reagents and getting 15. But I was able to convince myself a two reagent 15 is impossible if a 7 latency solve is impossible, and that a 7 latency solve is in fact impossible. It's a geometric argument, all the glyphs can actually exist but the motion between cycle 3 and cycle 4 has no solution. So the next best thing is a tight 31 with one input, and both inputs in isolation have a theory min of 31. In this way, the puzzle was well calculated (I had predicted before doing any math, that 2 inputs has a lower theory by exactly 1 point than either of the individual inputs) The mors input 31 is easier than the fire input 31. I made a 32 with the fire input that doesn't do any prebuilding, but it would balloon the area to try to do prebuilding to hit theory of 31, and it was already the larger of the two first day solutions. Over the course of the week we made a nice C(GA) pareto frontier on this input at 31 cycles, ranging from 305 cost and 73 area to 530 cost and 57 area. Title is black box because the solution is rather rectangular, has waste mors, and is doing Things. 31 requires 6 actions without a handoff, I permuted those actions as much as I could when exploring the search space and determined that this track loop on the left was the best area result possible. Everything else fits into it as well as I could. If this gets beaten on area secondary I'll be surprised, and if it gets beaten on C*R primary I'll eat a tissue.
