Salt placement has no symmetry, and this one is chosen for arm 1 able to swing salts back to align its salt batch with arm 2's. Putting salt in same channel as mors saves work for loading salt and disposing mors, but that does mean each batch's last salt pull cannot dispose a mors and requires 3 more cycles for arm 1 to do pay for disposal debt. The debt is avoided in first two batches.
