While I missed an obvious 1 tile improvement (swap vitae/mors on left to have one more chain handoff), the bigger potential improvement is bonding multiple vitae/mors together in a longer stick rather than only passing two, but each additional one added is less time to move.

It's surely optimal to have the first pair go off immediately, but perhaps the second pair can be delayed to have a longer chain. It's 7/3c for ~42c, but this can be 9*38, 11*34, 13*30, 15*26 (prefer 13*30).
