The metal rate calculator is a dirty liar. Well more like it's overeager--I opened up Pig Iron, saw its structure of getting three quicksilver and three iron from gold was familiar, but it didn't have the glyph of purification like Tax Fraud does yet was able to achieve the same ratio. So you can just reject a gold down to iron to get the third one of those instead of dividing it and using the setup-required purification setup to extract all the quicksilver from one of the irons. Thus, I made a new layout, but the gains weren't as crazy as I was expecting. You take what you can get though.
