Alchemy Log 1: This metric is bizarre and confusing. We write down what we can, but the focus is on deciphering '????' instead of '???.' Alchemy Log 2: The only determining factor seems to be rate, but... there isn't an obvious correlation between the two. It... seems to go down at lower rates? Alchemy Log 3: A rate of 2 is trivial to find, but it takes a second longer to find a 1 rate solution. It's quickly submitted and- the score is worse. Of course the score is worse. Alchemy Log 4: Alchemist Veil uses the 1r solution with various amounts of delay to test fractional rates. The optimal rate appears to be just above 2, but the exact number eludes us... Alchemy Log 5: Alchemist Tien tries more rates. 25/12. 55/24 gives a score of just 0.004. Eventually, the many attempts are graphed to a line of best fit. Alchemy Log 6: Could the correct rate be as simple as... 16/7? Alchemy Log 7: Triumph. A solution is made with 2 rate in period 4, and a single period of delay is added at the end. The submission goes through. Score of 0. Not 0.000, just... Zero. Alchemy Log 8: Alchemist Veil throws together a quick solution. 320g. It's not bad. Alchemy Log 9: Cost-lowering ideas are tried by the two alchemists, efforts lead by Alchemist Tien. Alchemist Veil suggests attempting a pivot with the hex arm. Alchemy Log 10: Alchemist Tien finds it. 280g. Various improvement efforts are made, but none come to fruition. Removing a debonder, solving without duplication... The geometry just does not seem to work out. Regardless, the two alchemists rest, satisfied with their work.
