Selecting practical reagents is a task normally done by understudies or University staff, but I approached this task with someone even more competent: my correspondent. He casually suggested a two-atom molecule before leaving me to my work--Living Air, the same gas that we use to ripen fruits. Commercially available. Wouldn't generate waste. The bonding network would be challenging, and we'd require a calcifier. But... Why use lot atom, when few atom do trick? The major breakthrough in this machine was in cracking the bonding network with an unusual dimer, and it permitted the unique length-2 arm geometry that can reuse a single debonder via pivots. But our final edge is the pivot to deliver the dimer to the output arm. This pivot not only eliminated two track segments, but gave the output arm a headstart on pivoting. Further, the track required both a positive and negative movement, but a pivot needs no inverse to reset. This freed an instruction from both arms, allowing the machine to run at period 11 rather than 12. I'm pleased that this tonic exists, but if this gendered fluid is as powerful as the story claims, then it will not, in fact, be used with gender in mind. It will almost exclusively be used to transform into an anthropomorphic animal. - Alchemist Kazyan, in correspondence with Alchemist Jasper
