I discovered this transmutation engine in a ruin from the old times. It was out of power, but I managed to get it running again. It seems to consume flakes of a strange, pliable substance, and output some variety of dust. On breaking both down with my analysis tools, the flakes and dust have incredibly similar compositions. Neither seems particularly useful either, leaving little clarity as to what the use of this machine is.

More frustratingly, the function of it is completely inscrutable. My tools are only capable of giving me the motions of the atoms and arms, which leaves severe gaps in my knowledge of how the machinery works. I've included a step by step illustration of the process with this report. If anyone would like to provide an explanation, it would be appreciated.
