I imagine that these "microplastics" break down better. They probably twist and fold into caltrops for easy bonding...but that assumes an enzyme to bond and help break them down. At the least, I can only imagine that these microplastics aren't quite as bad for the environment as plastics...and won't last as long as in our world.
Yes, I'm still on that.
