My very first max throughput solve besides a 1 area improvement. Because of a lack of a good critelli spot I decided to use the critelli to mark the saved hex. I'm not 100% pleased with the solve. While the main parts work nicely and are relatively cheap (so everything around the 4 hex arms), especially the middle part feels overly expensive. But that part has to get the distribution of many atoms right, so I didn't manage to find something cheaper. I'm especially annoyed that I use 2 purification glyphs for 3 copper every 20 cycles. Feels like it could/should be better with another approach. But overall it is not the worst solve, especially as it is my first (and only) throughput solve (up to the 1 area improvement). This puzzle reminded me of Amalgamated Gold Ring, where the iron + quicksilver input was made into a copper + 2 quicksilver molecule in many solves. Substitute quicksilver for water and you have nearly done one of the two outputs. That is how I designed the left part. I remembered thinking that biggie's start to AGR looked cheaper than my own one, so first I improved AGR RG with that exact start and then took that start for my Blue Vitriol solve. I thought about trying that improvement to AGR for years now, this was the motivation I needed to actually do it.
