This tincture is perhaps one of the most puzzling liquids I've ever stumbled across. The repulsion effect seems to be caused by a difference in molecular polarity, one presumes from the vitae-mors groups. At low temperatures, the kinetic energy of the molecules is too small to overcome the repulsive forces. But as kinetic energy increases, the repulsive force becomes negligible compared to the osmotic pressure, causing the boundary between the solutes to break down. A truly remarkable and underappreciated formulation. A longshot from the genius of Critelli's works mind you, but remarkable nonetheless.
